Kristen arrives at your event 45 minutes prior to the agreed upon start time, which allows time to set up before beginning to capture photos of your guests.

Kristen comes equipped with an iPad (for illustrating), a laptop (for displaying finished work), chargers, table signage and a floor-standing ring light for taking photos of your guests.

Kristen only requires a table (minimum 4’ wide or 36” round and decorated as you desire), 1 chair and access to an electrical outlet (with an extension cord if needed). It's that simple!

The station should be set up in a covered (preferably inside to avoid changing weather conditions) and easy to find location for your guests.

On average, black and white portraits take about 20 minutes per person, while watercolor portraits take about 35 minutes per person, due to Kristen's highly realistic style. Offsite portrait completion is offered as well.

Depending on your event guest list size, not all guests may get drawn. Please keep in mind, not everyone will ask for a portrait either!

The sweet spot is 1-3 people per portrait, with a maximum of 5 people per portrait.

Weddings: The best timeframe to book is 4 hours, beginning at the start of cocktail hour and concluding during reception. This allows ample opportunity to photograph guests during cocktail hour, when guests are up and mingling, and to illustrate them throughout the reception. You are welcome to book more or less time as needed.

For the portraits completed during the event, guests will receive their illustration in real time via email and text message. Portraits completed after the event will be sent to guests as they are completed, within 2 weeks.

If the Elite Package is purchased, hosts will receive printed portraits to be used as custom thank you cards within 1 month of the event. Guests will receive their custom thank you cards via mail from you directly.

As the host, you will receive all portraits illustrated in digital file format via email within 2 weeks of the event.

Yes! If you want Kristen there, she will do her best to be there. Please keep in mind Kristen has a remote, full-time job as well, so the earlier you book the better.

Kristen is located in Cedar Knolls, New Jersey, but is available to travel anywhere. The travel fee will cover flight, hotel and ground transportation expenses if needed.

The difference between an event portrait and a portrait ordered through the KBall Creations shop is the amount of detail / time spent on the artwork.

Event illustrations contain no facial features, basic shading / texture details and take less time to complete. Custom portraits ordered through the shop contain more facial features, higher attention to shading / texture and take more time to complete. Both contain the same highly accurate black outline, to ensure the subject/s of the portrait are easily identified.
